Inter-sectorial coordination remains a key challenge to managing water across economic and non-economic sectors. At the local level, inter-sectorial coordinated activities exist with multinational companies being involved in local level PPPs. However, the link to the global policies of the multinational companies is largely absent. The vision of the session was to find ways for scaling the principles of successful local PPPs to the global policies of multinational companies and related stakeholders.
This PPP track aims at engaging actors at all levels – from local to global – on the path to ensure sustainable water resource management. By bringing together relevant stakeholders this track seeks to foster greater knowledge sharing and coordination across sectors and political levels thus supporting the process of scaling the principles of the local PPPs to the global policies of multinational companies and related stakeholders.
Session at 3GF2013
3GF 2013 featured a PPP session on this track. The session supported inter-sectoral coordination between economic sectors and water resources. Relevant multinational companies were invited in order to improve awareness of the existing local initiatives and also the constraints and opportunities to adjust the global policies to integrate the principles of the successful local initiatives.
